Kharga Oasis
Kharga is the seat of the New Valley Governorate and the most populous oasis of the
Western Desert. Although it offers a variety of sites of interest to the visitor, including
ancient fortresses and villages, in Kharga it is the landscape that most overwhelms the
traveler. For it is in Kharga that we encounter the desert as we had always imagined it
to be.
History
Two points emerge over and over when investigating life in the desert. In times of
prosperity in the Nile Valley its control reached into the oases. In hard times, the oases
were left to fend for themselves, and were often invaded and influenced from the west.
When water was plentiful, the oases thrived; when water was scant, they did not.
Evidence of early human presence can be found throughout the Kharga depression,
including along the escarpment. Most settlements occur around water sources including
playa lakes and springs that are now fossilized. In Kharga there are springs at high elevations,
and ancient settlements have been found in the passes leading out of the oases.
This is especially true along the eastern scarp at such sites as Naqb al-Rufuf.

Siwa
Siwa is different. Most Siwans are Berbers, a
people that once roamed the North African coast from Tunisia to Morocco. The
Berbers are the true Western Desert indigenous people. As early as 10,000 B.C. they
inhabited the area: as the land dried, they moved toward the coast; as conquerors
invaded, they moved to the interior. When the Arab invaders came in the seventh
century they slowly changed the sedentary Berbers until in the twelfth century the
Berbers, too, were Bedouin, nomads. Because of this connection, the Siwan language,
traditions, rites, dress, decorations, and tools are mostly alien to the other oases in the
Western Desert. They are more closely aligned with the peoples of the Maghreb, the
northern coast of Africa from Tripoli to Morocco. This is also true of the history of the
oasis.

History
Wilfred Jennings-Bramley wrote that Siwa "cannot be said to have fallen from its high
estate, for it is probably much as it was when Herodotus, Strabo, Diodorus, Plutarch,
and Pliny though it worthy of mention; only it has stood still while the world went on."
Siwa has answered to a host of names through the centuries: it was called Santariya
by the Arabs, the Oasis of Jupiter-Amun, Marmaricus Hammon, and Field of Palm
Trees. Known to have been inhabited in Paleolithic and Neolithic times, Bayle St. John
believed that Siwa was the capital of an ancient kingdom that included Qara, Arashieh
(perhaps Areg), and Bahrein. This, according to the Siwan history, was when the oasis
was called Santariya and its dominions included Nubia. During the Old Kingdom it was
a part of Tehenu, Olive Land, which seems to have been a huge area extending as far
east as Mareotis.

Sie fahren ca. 170 KM entlang der Rotes Meersküste nach Zaafarana in einem privaten klimatisierten Fahrzeug, um eines der ältesten Klöster Ägyptens zu besuchen, Antonius-Kloster von dem Heiligen Antonius (251 – 356 n. Chr). Dieses Kloster erfindet sich inmitten der Berge der Östlichen Wüste in Ägypten. Die Anlage des St. Antoniusklosters umfasst Kirchen, Wohnräume und Gärten. Danach besuchen Sie Paulus-Kloster. Das Paulus-Kloster ist kleiner und noch schwieriger zu erreichen als das Antoniuskloster. Die Mauern des Paulusklosters wurden in und um die Höhle errichtet, in welcher der Eremit Paulus im 3. und 4. Jahrhundert etwa 90 Jahre lebte. Die Pauluskirche wurde über der Höhle des Heiligen Paulus errichtet. Die Höhle des Heiligen Paulus gibt bei der Besichtigung einige Schätz preis. So stehen mehrere Altäre und Kandelaber im Inneren. Auch Ikonen sind zu finden und ein Sarkophag, von dem man glaubt, dass die sterblichen Überreste des Heiligen Paulus darin ruhen. Stadtrundfahrt im altertümlichen Kairo

Unserer Reisebegleiter werden sie von Ihrem Hotel abholen.Das Fahrt beginnt um 4 Uhr vor dem Tor der Sieg “Bawabt el Nassr” . Dieser Tor ist die spüre der alten Kairoer Mauer, die Kairo in der fatmiden Zeit verteidigt hat. Die Heere tratten Kairo durch diesen Tor, wenn sie ein Kampf besiegen hatten. Danach werden sie die Moschee der AL-Hakim-bi-amr-allah besuchen. Diese Moschee wurde in der Zeit des Vatters von AL-Hakim, aber Al-Hakim hatte Aufbau nach dem Tod seines vatters beendet. Sie werden die Tauben in der Mosche besichtigen. Sie werden auch Al-Akmar Moschee ansehen. Diese Moschee ist eine der einzigen Spüren der fatmiden Zeit in Kairo. Sie hat eingne Strukur und Aufbau. al-Aqmar bedeutet übersetzt „Mondlicht“; das Bauwerk wird manchmal auchGraue Moschee genannt. In diesem Straße werden sie auch andere Denkmaler von Zeit der mamloken,Z.b Qalawun-Komplex sowie die Moschee und Madrasa von Selihdar.Qalwun war einen der berühmsten Königen dieser Zeit und viele Moscheen in dieser Zeit gebaut werden. Sie werden auch das Erste Krankenhause in Kairo. Durch diese Straße werden sie altertumliche Kairo besichtigen. Sie werden auch das Ortplatz von dem Nobelpreisträger Nagib Mahhfouz Besuchen.
